Children’s Ministry is more than just Sunday school.  Our church mission statement is for children too.  Through baptism they are full members of the church.  Our Children’s Ministry programs include opportunities for worship, fellowship, learning, service and outreach.  To register for Sunday school, or for more information, please contact the church office.

  • Baptism: Just as God gave life in physical birth, so he makes it possible to receive new life in a second birth.  It’s through this second birth that people become a member of the kingdom of God.  Baptisms are scheduled as needed.  Please contact the Pastor at (715)778-5935 to schedule.
  • Sunday School: Open to all children ages 4 (by September 1) through 6th grade.  Classes are held from September to May.  Children have the opportunity to participate in the annual Christmas Program.  In addition to students learning God’s word in individual classes, they also gather together with the congregation in worship before being dismissed to their classrooms following the children’s sermon.  Children also have the opportunity to contribute a weekly offering.  Money is distributed to charity or mission or organization yearly: global, national, state, local and home (St. John’s).
  • Bible Presentation for Third Graders: Third graders are presented with a gift Bible from St. John’s on Christ the King Sunday.
  • First Communion: First Communion preparation includes 2 separate class sessions with the Pastor and their parents during the Lenten season.  Children who attend the required sessions will receive their First Communion during the Maundy Thursday Service.

Confirmation is a program of study, worship, service and fellowship for 7th and 8th and 9th grade students.  Students are encouraged to put into practice what they learn.  Students are involved in leading worship service to the community and others through special service projects and summer Bible camps.  It is an excellent opportunity for young people to explore and grow in their Christian faith and understanding.  Confirmation classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  Confirmation students attend classes during their 7th and 8th grade years and part of 9th grade until they are confirmed on Reformation Sunday. To register your child(ren) from confirmation, contact the Pastor at (715)778-5935.
